  • About Birla Global University

    Birla Global University (BGU) is a self-financed private unitary University and has been established by the enactment of Birla Global University Odisha Act, 2015 with its main campus spread over an area of nearly 30 acres of land situated at IDCO Plot No.2, Gothapatna, Bhubaneswar. As per the Act, the management of the university is carried out by a Board of Governors headed by Smt. Jayashree Mohta, Chairperson, Birla Academy of Art & Culture being the main promoter of Birla Global University. Honorable Governor of Odisha is the Chancellor of the University.

    The University has been established with a goal to be the best destination for aspiring new-gen professionals. It is committed to redefine ‘quality’ in education with state-of-the-art facilities, best of the infrastructure and finest faculty. Presently, the University operates with six schools i.e. Birla School of Management, Birla School of Communication, Birla School of Commerce, Birla School of Social Sciences & Humanities, Birla School of Law, Birla School of Applied Sciences.

  • BBA (Hons.)

    Welcome to Birla School of Management (BSoM)

    Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar offers a 3-year, full-time BBA Programme. The programme provides rigorous training in Business Management encompassing areas such as General Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Finance. The emphasis is on contemporary issues affecting business and problem solving such as management of change within an increasingly dynamic environment and the development of business skills across organizations and sectors.

    Minimum Eligibility Students should have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates appearing in final examinations can also apply.

    Selection Criteria Students will be admitted to the programme based on merit (Percentage of marks secured in 10th and 10+2/12th Board Examination). The student may also be called for a Personal Interview if so desired by the university.

  • B.Com (Hons.)

     

    Welcome to Birla School of Commerce (BSoC)

    Business education, in recent times, has gained paramount importance because of the growth of industry, trade and commerce, specifically, because of the money-driven economy that we are living in. The most important facet of business education is that, it produces talent and inculcates self-discipline and self-restraint. Business is no more a one man’s show. Rather it is a concourse of human organizations which animate and articulate their aspirations and ambitions. Those need to be recognized & taken care of, so as to protect human values. Business education aims at nurturing and developing this talent. Therefore, Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar offers a three year full time B.Com. Programme simultaneously offering the students to interact with industry experts to gain fast-hand knowledge of the ground reality. The B.Com Honors Programme is divided into six semesters. The entire curriculum has been so designed that it includes an ideal combination of domain knowledge, knowledge of Information Technology and Industry-interface. Further the Syllabus is in conformity with the UGC curriculum of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).

  • BAJMC (Hons.)

     

    Welcome to Birla School of Communication (BSoComm)

    The full-time Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication (BAJMC) programme is spread over three years and spaced out over six semesters aligned with NEP 2020. The program follows CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) which encourages an inter-disciplinary approach allowing the student to choose any subject of their choice offered by various schools of the University. The program assures quality and contemporary connections with the undergraduate course structures in apex j-schools across the globe and the BAJMC syllabus incorporates lively theoretical lectures, hands-on practical sessions, tutorials, classroom presentations and take-home assignments. Furthermore, field trips, study tours, projects and an intensive internship structure help add to the depth of learning in the programme.

    The BAJMC curriculum focuses on the theoretical and historical perspectives of communication; and demonstrates an understanding of the history & evolution of media. The program also provides a full range of technical knowledge, theoretical skills and artistic manifestation required to become an accomplished media professional in a digital era where media, art and communication converge, engaging a varied landscape of screens, platforms and audiences. Courses in the program are of four types: Core, Elective, Ability Enhancement & Skill Enhancement Course. The curriculum, pedagogy and assessment process are based on continuous learning and a systematic evaluative process.

    Welcome to Birla School of Law (BSoL)

    Birla School of Law under Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar offers admission to the students to the first year of 5 Year Integrated Law Course. The school provides quality teaching in law course with the support of qualified and experienced faculty members in the law stream.

    Eligibility Criteria Minimum marks in qualifying examination for admission: Bar Council of India may from time to time, stipulate the minimum percentage of marks not below 45% of the total marks in case of general category applicants,42% for OBC category and 40% of the total marks in case of SC and ST applicants, to be obtained for the qualifying examination, such as +2 examination in case of Integrated Five Years’ course or Degree course in any discipline for Three years’ LLB course, for the purpose of applying for and getting admitted into a law Degree Program of any recognized University in either of the streams.

    Provided that such a minimum qualifying marks shall not automatically entitle a person to get admission into an institution but only shall entitle the person concerned to fulfil other institutional criteria notified by the institution concerned or by the government concerned from time to time to apply for admission.

    For admission into the BBA-LLB programme of BGU Bhubaneswar applicants with a valid *LSAT /CLAT/AILET/XLET / BGU Entrance Test score will be preferred.

    Eligibility Criteria Passes Class XII (or equivalent) in Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), with at least 60% marks in aggregate. Final year +2 students, who are expecting their results during 2024, can also apply.
